Holistic Fitness Training

Overview

Holistic fitness training uses a complex approach that reconciles both Eastern and Western traditions of physical exercise.

It incorporates:

- resistance training
- endurance training
- stretching and relaxation
- breathing exercises
- good posture
- healthy nutrition

Health Oriented Strength Training
The benefits of strength training are numerous and have long been underestimated. Resistive exercise can improve bone, ligament and tendon density, reduce the risk of sports injuries, improve body composition (ratio muscle to fat) and physical appearance, and correct muscular dysbalances and abnormal posture.
Strength training can be carried out with or without weights and machines, indoors or outdoors and target either isolated muscles or large muscle groups that form functional units. Complex functional exercises can help develop your coordinative abilities and enhance performance in specific sports.

Aerobic Conditioning
Regular aerobic exercise improves your stamina and strengthens the immune system. Endurance training is known to have a number of positive effects on the human organism and can help combat a variety of health problems from overweight to depression. Various sports are suitable for aerobic conditioning and help keep your training varied and enjoyable.

Qigong
Qigong is a Chinese system of exercises designed to stimulate the internal flow of energy and develop inner strength. Most Chi Kung exercises are performed in a standing position and involve very slow movements (or no visible movements at all) that follow the rhythm of breathing. Just like acupuncture, Chi Kung is based on the complex system of Traditional Chines Medicine. Its exercises are very gentle and therefor suitable even for very old or weak individuals. In Chinese hospitals Chi Kung forms part of cancer therapy to improve the self-healing power patients. Today this ancient method is widely known in the West and its various positive effects on general health and wellbeing are increasingly recognised by conventional medicine.
Yoga
The ancient system of Yoga practice combines various aspects of physical and emotional well being. Yoga postures strengthen and stretch the whole body, stimulate the inner organs, glands and the nervous system, release tension and help relieve many common ailments. Everybody can learn a series of basic positions and, with regular practice, enjoy the benefits of Yoga.
Nutrition

A balanced diet and regular exercise form the basis for good health, optimum performance and physical and emotional wellbeing. Choosing the food we eat can be like deciding between poison and medicine.
Dietary requirements vary greatly between individuals. A qualified nutritionist can help you to optimize your diet.
